Why do you need a BRCA License?

Why do all racers need a BRCA license to race or marshall? The main reason is so you and the club are covered by public liability insurance. Anyone who enters the track limits should have a BRCA license.
As a new racer, your first 3 visits to the club are covered under the clubs BRCA insurance (as long as you don't belong or race at another club). After 3 visits you should purchase your own license https://www.brca.org/join. It's £25 or less if you are a junior each year and also has many other benefits including it opens doors to enter BRCA regional and national events.
