Ready to Race RB10 RTR owners feedback

Post by oldschoolrc10 »

This is feedback from Mike on ownership of his RB10 RTR.
My 2cents having just started and having an RB10 - I’d go used competition buggy over an RB10 if I was to do it again.

The car will cost around £300, then you’ll need batteries and a charger. Servo upgrade I’d consider a must have, especially for indoor tight twisty tracks, the stock servo is very slow.

Some servos are incompatible with the stock receiver/transmitter so you may have to choose carefully from a list of known compatible servos with the RB10.

- Xpert Servo
- low profile savox

The stock shock oil is a bit too light for Ayr, I had to put some heavier in so had to buy some shock oil.

Lastly, the stock gearing is fairly slow. Totally fine for just starting out, but eventually you’ll want to swap the pinion gear (24tooth is ideal at around £8).

I’m now at the point where I reckon I’ll get a good chunk of time out the car before I consider upgrading anything else. It’s fast enough for me to not do serious damage, and enough to be competitive if I’m having a good day. But it’s cost a few pennies to get here 😅
